Police have registered a case against a man for driving a car at dangerous speed on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and creating panic among commuters.

According to police, the accused was identified as Kothapalli Yashwanth Reddy, a resident of Alkapur Colony in Puppalaguda. On May 10, he allegedly drove his car from Narsingi towards the Telangana Police Academy at a speed exceeding 200 kmph.

Police said the driver also recorded the high-speed drive and uploaded the video on social media platforms.

An ORR patrolling officer, Karingula Sairam, noticed the video and filed a complaint at the Narsingi Police Station on May 19. Based on the complaint, police registered a case, detained the accused, and seized the car.

During questioning, Yashwanth Reddy reportedly admitted that he drove at high speed to test the performance of his newly purchased car.

Police officials warned motorists against reckless driving and said strict action would be taken against those endangering public safety on highways and city roads.
