Senior All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader, former MLA, and General Secretary Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, after a period of illness. His death has caused deep grief across political, social, and AIMIM circles.
Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri was one of the most trusted associates of late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, fondly known as Salar-e-Millat. He played a key role in strengthening the AIMIM organization and was actively involved in public service for several decades.
He enjoyed strong public support and had a successful political career. Quadri was elected as MLA from the Charminar Assembly constituency four times, winning elections in 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2018. Known for his simplicity and close connection with people, he was widely respected in his constituency for addressing public issues sincerely.
Ahead of the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, he was relieved of the party candidate position from the Yakutpura constituency. Despite this, he remained loyal to AIMIM and continued to serve the party as its General Secretary until his last days.
Political observers and party leaders have described his passing as an irreparable loss to Hyderabad politics, the Muslim community, and AIMIM.
Several leaders, party workers, and well-wishers have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to his long-standing service and commitment.
