Telangana: Mother and Three Children Drown in Kamareddy on Ugadi Festival

Kamareddy, 30 March – (www.deccanlive.com): A heartbreaking tragedy struck Venkatapur village in Ellareddy Mandal, Kamareddy on the day of Ugadi, as a mother and her three children drowned in a pond. Police rushed to the scene upon receiving information and recovered the bodies. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

How the Incident Happened

On Sunday morning, Mounika (26) went to the pond with her three children—Mythili (10), Akshara (8), and Vinay (6). While Mounika was washing clothes, the children entered the water for a bath. However, the pond was too deep, and they began drowning. In an attempt to save them, Mounika also got pulled underwater and tragically lost her life along with her children.

Investigation Underway

Police have recovered the bodies from the pond and are investigating whether the family drowned accidentally or if there were any other reasons behind the deaths.

Meanwhile, Mounika’s family members have raised suspicions over the incident, demanding a thorough investigation. The authorities have assured a fair inquiry, and further details are awaited.

The entire village of Venkatapur is in mourning following the devastating loss of four members from the same family.
