BRS Leadership Holds Talks with Jamiat Ulama on Jubilee Hills By-Elections and Community Concerns

Leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) met with senior officials of Jamiat Ulama Telangana & Andhra Pradesh on Saturday night at Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom Rehmania, Talab Katta, Yaqutpura. The meeting focused on the current political situation in the state and challenges facing the Muslim community.

BRS leaders present included Tarik Rama Rao (Acting President), former ministers Harish Rao and Mahmood Ali, along with other minority leaders. Representing Jamiat Ulama were President Maulana Mufti Mohammad Giyasuddin Rahmani Qasimi, General Secretary Mufti Mahmood Zubair, and Vice Nazim Mohammad Baneem Mazhari, among others.

During the discussions, Mufti Mahmood Zubair raised concerns about the death of Sheikh Riyaz in the Nizamabad police encounter and alleged mistreatment of his family by police. He also discussed the resignation of senior IAS officer Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, urging BRS leaders to persuade him to withdraw it.

The meeting also reviewed the work done for the Muslim community during previous BRS governments and expressed concern over recent incidents under the current Congress administration. Open discussions were held regarding community issues and key challenges, including the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-elections, which hold significant political importance.

BRS leaders also appealed for Jamiat’s support for the party candidate in the by-elections, highlighting the development initiatives and welfare measures undertaken for the Muslim community during the tenure of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).
