Private engineering and professional colleges across Telangana have announced that they will go on strike from November 3, demanding the state government to clear pending fee reimbursement dues.

The Federation of Private Colleges stated that it will serve a formal notice to the government on October 22 regarding the protest.

An emergency meeting of the federation’s core committee was held on Sunday, where it was decided to intensify the agitation. As part of the plan, a meeting with student unions will be held on October 25, followed by a general body meeting on October 26.

Further, the federation also resolved to hold discussions with leaders of all political parties by November 1 to seek wider support for their demand.

The managements of these institutions claim that the delay in clearing reimbursement dues has caused them severe financial strain, leaving colleges struggling to manage operations.
