Hamas Strikes Back: Three Israeli Soldiers Killed in Khan Younis

Gaza, 27 July – (PIC): Gaza: Fighters from the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, carried out a planned and complex attack on Saturday night in Abasan al-Kabira, an eastern area of Khan Younis, killing three Israeli soldiers and injuring several others.
According to Palestinian media reports, the attack targeted an Israeli armored vehicle that was conducting operations in the area. The fighters emerged from an underground tunnel and planted explosives on a Namer-type armored vehicle, causing a powerful explosion.
Israeli sources, including the website “Hadashot B’Zman”, acknowledged the incident but did not release full details, citing military censorship. Reports indicate that two soldiers were killed instantly, while another died later from injuries.
In a statement, the al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for the operation, saying they targeted two armored vehicles with specially designed explosive devices, completely destroying them and killing everyone on board. They also stated that a third vehicle was hit with a “Yassin 105” missile, leaving it fully destroyed.
Following the attack, Israeli forces deployed helicopters to evacuate the dead and wounded and used heavy machinery to remove the destroyed vehicles.
This operation is part of “Hijarat Dawood” (Stones of David), an ongoing series of retaliatory strikes by al-Qassam Brigades in response to Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
According to Israel’s own figures, 895 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the war began on October 7, 2023, including 451 in ground battles, while 6,108 soldiers have been injured. However, analysts believe the actual numbers may be significantly higher due to strict military censorship.
