Telangana: Water Returns to Moosi! Officials Lift Project Gates

Nalgonda, 25 July – (www.deccanlive.com): Continuous heavy rains across Telangana have caused water levels in rivers, reservoirs, and lakes to rise sharply. As a result, the Musi Project has reached full capacity, prompting officials to open its gates on Friday morning.

Authorities opened the third and eighth gates of the project, releasing 1,293 cusecs of water downstream. Earlier, officials attempted to open the second gate, but due to technical issues, it did not function properly.

Sources revealed that maintenance work on the Musi Project gates was scheduled for last summer but was not carried out, leading to operational difficulties now.

Officials continue to monitor the situation as inflows from persistent rains keep increasing. Residents living downstream have been advised to stay alert.
