20 Dead, Several Injured in Massive Fire at Restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar

A devastating fire broke out at a restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area, claiming the lives of at least 20 people and leaving several others injured. The incident triggered panic as flames quickly spread through the building.
According to officials, the fire erupted at the Lemon Green Restaurant on Tuesday morning. Several people were trapped inside the building when the blaze started. Firefighters rushed to the spot and immediately launched rescue operations to evacuate those trapped.
The Delhi Fire Service received an emergency call in the morning and dispatched 10 fire tenders to the scene. Rescue teams worked for several hours to bring the fire under control and save those inside the building.
Authorities said that 11 people were initially rescued from the building and shifted to nearby hospitals through ambulance services. During the operation, firefighters entered the restaurant’s basement to search for and rescue trapped individuals.
Local MLA Satish Upadhyay described the incident as unfortunate and said all concerned departments, including disaster management officials, police, and civic authorities, were alerted immediately after the fire was reported.
Several injured victims are currently undergoing treatment at hospitals. Officials have not yet confirmed the exact number of people present inside the restaurant when the fire broke out.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Police and fire department officials have started an investigation to determine what led to the tragedy.
