Asaduddin Owaisi Slams Detention of Bengali-Speaking Muslims, Says “Indians Being Sent to Bangladesh at Gunpoint”

Hyderabad, 26 July – (www.deccanlive.com): AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticized the detention of Bengali-speaking Muslims in Assam, Haryana, and other states, alleging that they are being sent to Bangladesh at gunpoint.
Owaisi said these people are Indian citizens but are being harassed by labeling them as “illegal Bangladeshis.”
“Discrimination Against Muslims”
Owaisi accused both central and state governments of biased treatment towards Muslims. He said the government is targeting only the weakest sections of society.
In a post on social media platform X, Owaisi wrote:
“These Muslims are being called infiltrators only because they don’t have the means to fight the police. They are extremely poor – some work as ragpickers while others work as domestic helpers.”
Gurugram DM’s Order Shared
Owaisi also shared an order by the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, which issued an SOP for deporting Rohingyas and alleged Bangladeshi nationals. He said the police do not have the right to arrest anyone based solely on their language.
“Such arrests are illegal,” Owaisi asserted.
