Gas companies have made KYC mandatory for all domestic LPG gas connections. Officials said that many consumers have still not completed their KYC, even after several reminders. If KYC is not done, gas subsidy and even cylinder booking services may be stopped.
Gas agencies clarified that all LPG users who receive subsidy must complete KYC without fail. This move has been taken by the Central Ministry of Petroleum to prevent misuse of gas subsidies and to remove fake or duplicate gas connections. The aim is to ensure that subsidies reach only eligible consumers.
Who Must Complete KYC?
- All domestic LPG gas connection holders
- Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
- All consumers currently receiving gas subsidy
How to Complete KYC?
- Through Aadhaar-based biometric or OTP verification
- KYC can be completed during gas cylinder delivery by agency staff
- By visiting the nearest gas agency
- Online through the official website or mobile app of the gas company

- Aadhaar card (mobile number must be linked)
- Gas customer number
- Registered mobile number
- Address details
Gas agencies have urged consumers to complete KYC at the earliest to avoid any interruption in gas services or subsidy benefits.
