There was tension at Shamshabad Airport on Thursday after IndiGo suddenly cancelled multiple flights, leaving passengers frustrated. The airline confirmed that 92 flights were cancelled—43 flights scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad and 49 flights scheduled to depart.

Many passengers said they were shocked because they received the cancellation message only after completing check-in. They protested inside the terminal, saying the airline should have informed them earlier.

Meanwhile, eight IndiGo flights from Visakhapatnam were also cancelled. These flights were supposed to go to Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

Special Flight Arranged for Ayyappa Devotees

In a separate incident, Andhra Pradesh Minister Parthasarathy, who was waiting at Shamshabad Airport for a flight to Vijayawada, noticed that Ayyappa devotees were worried about the delay in their flight to Sabarimala.

Seeing their concern, the minister personally contacted Union Minister Ram Mohan and helped arrange a special flight for the devotees.

Since his own flight to Vijayawada was missed due to the delay, Parthasarathy later travelled by road. Ayyappa devotees thanked the minister for helping them and ensuring their travel arrangements.
