Political activity in Telangana has intensified as major parties begin preparing for the next Assembly elections. Amid the changing political landscape, senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has revealed plans for a major political comeback by party chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
Speaking in a recent interview with a news channel, Harish Rao said that KCR is planning a historic statewide bus yatra in 2027, about a year before the Assembly elections.
Harish Rao explained that KCR had remained largely silent after the Congress came to power because he wanted to give the new government enough time to settle down and govern. He said that with the Congress government now completing half of its term, that period of patience is over.
According to Harish Rao, KCR is set to become more active in politics in the coming months. He is expected to increase his presence at Telangana Bhavan, participate in public movements, and undertake extensive tours across various districts.
As part of the party’s strategy for the next elections, KCR is expected to launch a statewide bus yatra in 2027, covering most districts of Telangana. During the tour, he will interact with party leaders, workers, and the public while shaping the BRS strategy based on the prevailing political situation.
Commenting on possible political alliances in the state, Harish Rao said that if the BJP, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and Jana Sena Party form an alliance, it could work in favor of the BRS. He argued that such an alliance would prevent the division of anti-government votes and could benefit the BRS in the electoral battle.
When asked about reported differences with BRS MLC K. Kavitha and their impact on the party, Harish Rao declined to comment.
