Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday inaugurated a new Eco Park near Himayat Sagar in Hyderabad, offering residents a fresh green space to enjoy nature and outdoor activities.
Developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at Kotwal Guda, the park spreads across 85 acres and was built at an estimated cost of ₹75 crore. The park will be open to visitors starting Saturday.
Officials say the park has been designed to promote environmental awareness and provide a peaceful natural space for visitors. Around 10 lakh plants have been planted in the park to create a clean and oxygen-rich environment.

Longest Elevated Boardwalk in India
One of the main attractions of the eco park is a 1.5-kilometre elevated boardwalk built using composite wood. The walkway is 2.5 metres wide and is said to be the longest elevated boardwalk in India.
Visitors can walk along this path and enjoy scenic views of the eco park and the nearby Himayat Sagar lake.
Asia’s Largest Aviary
Another highlight of the park is the aviary (bird exhibition area) spread across 4.8 acres, which officials say is among the largest in Asia.
The aviary houses around 6,500 birds from 25 different species, brought from regions including Asia, Africa, South America, and Australia.
Other Attractions in the Park
The eco park also includes several attractions designed for families and nature lovers:
Arrival Plaza: Built with natural Konkan bamboo structures in a curved design.
Children’s Play Area: A natural play zone with wooden play equipment and soft grass.
Butterfly Garden: A dedicated garden designed to attract butterflies.
Rock Garden: A special garden featuring plants that grow with minimal water.
The park also showcases rich biodiversity, with 188 plant species, including hedges, shrubs, ornamental plants, vines, and ground-cover plants.
Timings and Entry Fee
Timings: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Entry Fee: ₹100 per person
Aviary Entry: ₹150
Weekend Entry Fee: ₹200
Officials believe the eco park will soon become one of the major tourist and recreational attractions in Hyderabad.
