The Bhopal Global Tablighi Ijtema, one of the world’s largest Islamic congregations, is set to take place from November 14 to 17 at the vast Eint Khedi Grounds on the outskirts of the Madhya Pradesh capital. The annual four-day gathering is known for its spiritual atmosphere, devotion, and message of peace and unity.

This will be the 78th edition of the Ijtema, which draws participants not only from across India but also from countries including Bangladesh, Gulf nations, and parts of Africa. This year, organizers expect the attendance to exceed 1.2 million (12 lakh) people — a significant increase compared to previous years.

According to Dr. Omar Hafeez, Media In-charge of the Ijtema Committee, preparations have been enhanced by 20% this year to accommodate the growing number of participants. The main congregation area has been expanded from 100 acres to 120 acres, while over 300 acres have been allocated for parking, divided into 70 zones to ensure smooth traffic movement.

More than 30,000 trained personnel are involved in managing the event — 25,000 volunteers from the Ijtema Committee and 5,000 officials from the local administration and police. These teams are overseeing arrangements related to cleanliness, safety, parking, traffic, and public facilities.

Significant improvements have also been made to lighting, sound systems, drinking water, sanitation, and food supply. The number of tube wells and water tankers has been increased, while food zones have been expanded to reduce long queues. For safety reasons, the seating capacity of the main tent has been slightly reduced.

Special facilities are being set up for foreign guests, including dedicated tents and interpreters. The Bhopal Ijtema is counted among the five largest Islamic congregations in the world, held alternately in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh each year.

This grand congregation aims to spread the message of peace, unity, and service to humanity. Authorities and organizers have urged participants to maintain discipline, cleanliness, and follow traffic regulations to ensure the event’s smooth and successful conduct.
