Foreign ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union held an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss the rising tensions in the Middle East following Iran’s attacks in the region.

The meeting was conducted through a video conference, where leaders strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on GCC member states and called for them to stop immediately.

In the joint statement issued after the meeting, the ministers said that Gulf countries have the full right to defend their security and stability. They stressed that GCC nations can take all necessary measures to protect themselves from threats.

The statement also urged Iran to limit its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. The ministers expressed concern over activities that they believe are causing instability in the Middle East and Europe.

They also called on Iran to stop actions that could further escalate tensions in the region and to end violence against its own citizens.

Tensions in the region have increased after recent attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran. In response, Iran targeted several US bases in the region, and the situation continues to develop.
