18 Workers Killed in Massive Explosion at Firecracker Factory in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

In a tragic incident, at least 18 people lost their lives in a massive explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Vetlapalem village under Samarlakota mandal of Kakinada district.
The blast triggered a huge fire, trapping several workers inside the factory. According to initial reports, more than 20 workers were present at the site when the explosion occurred. Many of them were caught in the flames.
Officials said 18 people have been confirmed dead so far, while several others are seriously injured. The condition of some of the injured workers is reported to be critical, raising fears that the death toll could increase.
Fire department personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the blast. With the help of local residents, firefighters are working to bring the flames under control. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals in ambulances for treatment.
Preliminary information suggests that the explosion took place while firecrackers were being manufactured. The impact of the blast was so powerful that nearby buildings were also damaged. Eyewitnesses said bodies were found scattered due to the force of the explosion.
Rescue and relief operations are still underway.
CM Chandrababu Expresses Shock
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep shock over the incident. He directed Home Minister Anitha to immediately visit the accident site and assess the situation. The Chief Minister also spoke to officials and sought details about the rescue operations and the condition of the injured.
Further investigation is expected to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
