In a major relief for commuters, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced a reduction in ticket fares for AC buses in Hyderabad. The new fares will come into effect from March 1.
With summer temperatures already rising, many people prefer to travel in air-conditioned buses for a more comfortable journey. Keeping this in mind, TGSRTC has decided to lower fares in Metro Deluxe AC and E-Metro AC buses operating within the city.
New Ticket Fares
Earlier, the fare for every 4 kilometres in Metro Deluxe AC buses was ₹30. It has now been reduced to ₹25. This means passengers will save ₹5 for every 4 km of travel.
In E-Metro AC buses, the earlier fare was ₹35 for every 4 kilometres. It has now been cut to ₹25, offering a direct saving of ₹10.
Officials said the move is aimed at encouraging more passengers to use AC buses during the summer season. Currently, occupancy in AC buses is around 60 percent, as many commuters hesitate due to higher ticket prices. With the fare reduction, the corporation expects occupancy levels to improve.
