Thousands of Palestinian worshippers offered Isha and Taraweeh prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday evening, marking the first night of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to local sources in the occupied city, large numbers of people managed to reach the mosque despite strict security measures imposed by Israeli forces. Barriers were set up at several entry points to the Old City, and heavy security was deployed around the mosque premises.

Witnesses said Israeli forces checked identity cards at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevented several people from entering the compound. Despite these restrictions, thousands of worshippers gathered inside the mosque to perform prayers.

Sources also reported that during the Taraweeh prayers, Israeli forces entered the courtyards of the mosque compound, increasing tensions in the area.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered one of the holiest sites in Islam and holds deep religious significance for Muslims around the world. Every year during Ramadan, large numbers of worshippers gather there for special nightly prayers.

The situation around the mosque remains tense as worshippers continue to face security restrictions while trying to observe the holy month.
