There is good news for gold and silver buyers as prices have fallen sharply from record levels. After touching all-time highs in recent months, gold rates have been steadily declining since the beginning of 2026.
At one point, gold prices had nearly touched the ₹2 lakh mark for 10 grams, leaving middle-class families worried. However, with the upcoming wedding season and auspicious days ahead, the recent fall in prices has brought relief to buyers.
For the past two weeks, gold and silver prices have been on a downward trend. As of February 18 (Wednesday morning rates), gold prices have dropped further.
