Madinah Bus Accident: Only Survivor Shoaib Returns to Hyderabad, Gets Emotional at Airport

Mohammed Abdul Shoaib, the only survivor of the horrific bus accident in Madinah Munawwara, returned to Hyderabad on Tuesday morning. The 24-year-old had witnessed his mother, father, and grandfather die in front of him, along with 45 other passengers, when the bus caught fire. Shoaib was the only one who managed to escape alive.

He arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at around 10:30 am on an IndiGo flight. The atmosphere turned emotional as soon as he stepped out. His elder brother Mohammed Sameer and Haj Committee staff member Mohammed Masood accompanied him from Saudi Arabia after his treatment was completed.

The moment Shoaib touched the airport floor, his eyes filled with tears. When family members hugged him, he broke down crying, unable to hold back the pain he had carried for days.

While speaking briefly to journalists, Shoaib said in a tired and shaken voice:
“The bus had stopped… an oil tanker hit us from behind… everything ended in just five minutes…”
His short sentence carried a deep ocean of fear, shock, and memories that words cannot fully describe.

Shoaib thanked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MLA Majid Hussain, and others who supported him during this difficult time.
“I am grateful to everyone who stood with me and my family,” he said.

It may be noted that five days earlier, the Telangana government’s special team that travelled to Saudi Arabia to oversee the mass funeral, legal processes, and other formalities returned to India after completing its duties.
