AP IAS Officer’s Daughter Dies by Suicide in Guntur; Parents Blame Husband for Harassment

A tragic incident took place in Tadepalli where Madhuri Sahithibai (27), daughter of senior IAS officer Chinna Ramudu, died by suicide on Sunday night. According to police, she was found hanging in the bathroom of her room.
Madhuri had married Rajesh Naidu from Bugganapalli Tanda in Nandyal district in March 2025. It was an inter-caste love marriage. But just three months after the wedding, Madhuri informed her parents that she was being harassed by her husband. With the help of local police, her parents brought her back to their home in Tadepalli two months ago. Since then, she had been living with them.
On Sunday night, she reportedly ended her life. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to AIIMS Mangalagiri for postmortem. Based on the complaint lodged by her mother Lakshmibai, a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
“He Harassed Her for More Dowry,” Says IAS Officer Chinna Ramudu
Speaking to the media, Chinna Ramudu said:
“Rajesh lied that he had a job and married our daughter through a registered marriage in Mahanandi. Later, he said he would arrange a formal wedding in front of elders, so we sent her with him. But he kept harassing her for additional dowry. He even threatened her, saying she had no support and he could kill her.
Our daughter told us she needed his permission even to call us. She said she could not stay with him anymore. That is why we brought her back two months ago. But she was always upset that her husband never came to take her home. She kept saying his love was not real.
We never imagined we would lose her like this,” he said with deep grief.
