A major accident was avoided in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Friday morning when a moving bus suddenly caught fire. At least 35 passengers onboard narrowly escaped without any injuries.
The bus, which was travelling from Delhi to Varanasi, caught fire around 10:30 AM near Rama Devi Chauraha on the Noubasta–Rama Devi National Highway. Within minutes, the flames spread quickly and completely burnt the bus down.
According to officials, several passengers immediately rushed to get out. Some even broke the windows and jumped out to save their lives.
Police reached the spot as soon as they received the information and safely evacuated all remaining passengers. However, the bus and all the luggage inside were completely destroyed in the fire.

“The fire brigade team reached the spot and managed to control the fire after a lot of effort. The incident caused a traffic jam on the highway. The burnt bus has been moved to the roadside, and work is underway to restore smooth traffic flow.”
