In a major decision, the Karkardooma Court in Delhi on Thursday acquitted six Muslims who were falsely accused in the 2020 Delhi riots.
Those acquitted are Gulzar, Shehzad, Wajid, Sajid, Shehbaaz and Saleem.

The case was fought by advocate Saleem Malik under the instructions of Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind.

Court: “Prosecution Failed Completely”

While announcing the judgment, the court said the prosecution could not prove any of the charges.
The police had accused the men of looting and arson during the riots, but the court noted that no solid evidence was presented against them.

The judge stated that since the allegations were not proven, all six accused were being honourably acquitted without any conditions.

Families Express Relief and Gratitude

With the verdict, the families of the accused expressed great relief and joy.
They thanked Maulana Mahmood Madani and said the Jamiat’s legal team had supported them for five long years, giving them hope when they were losing courage.
They also thanked the court for delivering justice.

Jamiat’s Continued Support for Riot Victims

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has been offering legal and humanitarian help to Delhi riot victims from day one.
The organization initially helped nearly 600 people secure bail.
At present, it is fighting 267 riot-related cases, and more than 100 accused have already been acquitted.

Under the supervision of Maulana Niaz Ahmed Farooqui, the Jamiat is handling the ongoing legal work.
Earlier, under Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, the Jamiat also rebuilt 165 damaged homes, repaired 11 mosques, and restored 274 shops, including the famous tyre market in Gokalpuri.

This judgment marks another major step toward justice for those wrongly accused in the 2020 violence.
