Congress Scores Big Victory in Jubilee Hills By-Election; Naveen Yadav Wins by Over 25,000 Votes

The Congress Party has achieved a grand victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election. Congress candidate Naveen Yadav won the seat with a majority of more than 25,000 votes over his nearest rival, BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha. This is the highest-ever majority in the history of the Jubilee Hills constituency.
From the beginning of the counting, Naveen Yadav maintained a clear lead, which continued to grow round after round. Maganti Sunitha did not lead in even a single round. This strong win has boosted the morale of the Congress workers and the Revanth Reddy government. The Election Commission is expected to officially announce Naveen Yadav’s victory soon.
Both BRS and BJP candidates received fewer votes compared to the 2023 elections. BJP even lost its deposit.
Revanth Reddy’s Strategy Worked
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy played a key role in the Congress win. He closely monitored the entire process—from choosing the candidate to leading the campaign. Just before polling, the CM appointed Mohammed Azharuddin as a minister to strengthen support among minorities. Ministers were assigned responsibilities in each division, and meetings were held with local leaders and workers to energize the cadre. The government’s welfare schemes were also strongly promoted among voters.

Naveen Yadav turned several past defeats into steps toward success:
2009: Contested as MIM corporator from Yousufguda and lost.
2014: Contested from Jubilee Hills on MIM ticket, secured 41,656 votes and stood second.
2015: Lost again as MIM corporator candidate from Rahmathnagar.
2018: Contested as an Independent from Jubilee Hills, secured 18,817 votes.
2023: Joined Congress in November in the presence of Revanth Reddy.
