Evening Time Chosen for Most Blasts in India: A Pattern Behind Terror Attacks

The recent powerful explosion in Delhi that killed 12 people at around 6:52 PM has once again raised concerns about the timing pattern behind terror attacks in India. According to reports, over the past two decades, most major blasts linked to ISI-backed terror groups have occurred between 6 PM and 7 PM.

Investigations into previous incidents show that terror outfits often plan attacks during evening hours to cause maximum destruction and panic. Even in the latest Delhi car bomb case, the suspects reportedly reached the location in the afternoon but waited until evening to trigger the blast.

Why evening is chosen:

  1. Terrorists aim to create fear, chaos, and maximum damage, while also drawing national and international attention.
  2. Between 6 and 7 PM, cities are crowded — office workers return home and families step out for shopping or recreation, making public places like markets and malls heavily packed.
  3. The fading daylight helps attackers avoid CCTV detection.
  4. Heavy traffic during this time reduces police vehicle checks, allowing explosives to be transported more easily.

Security agencies are now studying this recurring time pattern to strengthen preventive measures in crowded areas, especially during evening hours.
