Bihar Elections 2025: First Phase Voting on November 6 Across 18 Districts; Results on November 14

The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections will take place on Thursday, November 6, across 121 constituencies in 18 districts. In this phase, the fate of 1,304 candidates will be decided by the voters.

The second and final phase of polling is scheduled for November 11, and the results will be announced on November 14.

Ministers’ Political Future at Stake

In the first phase, the political future of 16 ministers from the current government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is on the line. Among them, 11 belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Prominent BJP candidates include Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, contesting from Tarapur, and Vijay Kumar Sinha from Lakhisarai.

Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap in the Fray

From the opposition Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate, is contesting for the third time from the Raghopur constituency.
His elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, is contesting from the Mahua constituency in Vaishali district as a Shakti Janata Dal candidate.

AIMIM’s Role in Bihar Polls

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has also fielded 25 candidates in this election. The party’s Bihar unit president, Akhtarul Iman, is contesting from Amour.

First Phase: November 6 – 121 seats
Second Phase: November 11 – 122 seats

Results: November 14

With major parties like BJP, JD(U), RJD, Congress, and AIMIM in the fray, Bihar is witnessing an intense political battle that could reshape the state’s political landscape.
