In a shocking incident, unknown persons allegedly broke into the office of the Telangana State Waqf Board and stole sensitive data and documents related to Waqf properties. The incident took place within the Abids Police Station limits and has raised serious concerns about the security of one of the state’s most important institutions.
According to reports, the unidentified individuals illegally entered the chamber of the Waqf Board Chairman and took away key files, documents, and digital data. The theft came to light when board officials noticed missing records and unauthorized changes in the system.
Following the discovery, a senior Waqf Board officer lodged a formal complaint at Abids Police Station, after which the police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Police sources revealed that the stolen data contained highly sensitive information about Waqf properties across Telangana. Digital forensic experts have been called in to trace the stolen data and identify those responsible.
Waqf Board officials suspect a planned conspiracy behind the theft, suggesting that it may not just be a random act of burglary, but a deliberate attempt to alter or erase key property records.
This incident has raised serious questions about security at the Waqf Board’s headquarters. How could someone enter such a high-security office so easily? Were the CCTV cameras and security staff actually functional, or merely for show?
Some sources even believe that the theft could be an inside job, possibly being portrayed as a simple “break-in” to cover up internal manipulation of property data.
Police investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, citizens and community leaders have expressed concern, saying that if this theft involves tampering with Waqf property records, then it is not just a data theft, but a “theft of public trust.”
