10-Year-Old Girl Dies of Rabies After Stray Dog Bite in Nizamabad

A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Balkonda mandal in Nizamabad district, where a 10-year-old girl died after contracting rabies from a stray dog bite.

According to local sources, the girl, identified as Lakshana, was attacked by a stray dog about a month ago. The dog’s claws scratched her head, causing a small wound. Out of fear, the child did not inform her family about the incident.

A few days ago, her family noticed that she was behaving strangely and making sounds similar to a barking dog. Alarmed, they rushed her to a private hospital in Nizamabad. Doctors there confirmed that she was suffering from advanced rabies.

For better treatment, the girl was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad. However, despite medical efforts, she passed away on Saturday morning.

This tragic case has once again highlighted the growing threat of stray dog attacks and the importance of immediate medical attention after animal bites.
