A shocking case of sexual assault on a minor boy has been reported at a children’s home in Saidabad, Hyderabad. Police have arrested a security guard working at the facility after the boy was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, where doctors confirmed he had been sexually abused.
According to reports, the accused guard had been allegedly sexually assaulting the boy for some time. When the child’s health deteriorated, he was granted short leave without proper approval and sent home. Seeing his weakened condition, the parents took him to a hospital, where medical examination revealed signs of sexual abuse.
Following the doctor’s report, the parents filed a complaint at a nearby police station. A Zero FIR was registered and transferred to the Saidabad Police, who immediately reached the children’s home and arrested the accused guard on Saturday night.
More Children May Be Victims
During further investigation, police discovered that the children’s home houses 77 minors, and preliminary inquiries revealed that at least four more children may have been subjected to similar abuse. These children were separately questioned, and their statements have been recorded. Police are also investigating the involvement of two additional staff members in the assaults.
Negligence in Medical Supervision
Sources allege that the home failed to conduct regular medical check-ups, which could have brought the abuse to light earlier. Although a permanent doctor has been appointed to the facility, residents claim that he visits irregularly due to managing a private clinic elsewhere.
Following public outrage, senior officials from the State Women and Child Welfare Department have ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of negligence or abuse.
