Gaza’s Interior Ministry Grants Pardon to Those Not Involved in Civilian Killings

The Interior Ministry and National Security Department in Gaza has announced a general amnesty for individuals who were previously associated with armed groups or criminal gangs but were not involved in killings or acts of bloodshed.

According to the ministry’s official statement released on Sunday, the purpose of this move is to give such individuals a chance to regularize their legal and social status and reintegrate into society.

The announcement comes after the ceasefire that followed what Gaza officials described as the genocidal war imposed by Israel on the Palestinian people. The ministry emphasized that it is taking immediate steps to restore law and order, stabilize the region, and promote social harmony to strengthen internal unity and community balance.

The statement explained that during the war, several criminal groups exploited the chaos to engage in activities that disrupted public order—such as seizing citizens’ properties, looting humanitarian aid, and disturbing social peace. However, the ministry clarified that some of these individuals were not directly involved in any killings or violent crimes against civilians.

In light of justice, national responsibility, and the spirit of internal unity, the ministry announced that anyone who had joined such groups but did not participate in violence or bloodshed can surrender to security authorities and benefit from the general amnesty.

The ministry has set a one-week deadline, starting from Monday, October 13, 2025, until Sunday, October 19, 2025, for individuals to turn themselves in. Their legal and security cases will then be formally reviewed and permanently closed.

The statement also carried a warning: anyone who refuses to surrender or continues to violate the law will face strict legal action. The ministry reaffirmed that no one will be allowed to harm public safety or citizens’ rights, and those who ignore this warning will be held fully accountable for the consequences of their actions.
