Hyderabadi Student Shot Dead in Dallas, USA, While Working at Gas Station

Hyderabad, 4 October – (www.deccanlive.com): Another tragedy has struck the Telugu community in the United States. A 27-year-old student from Hyderabad, Chandrashekar Poole, was shot dead in Dallas, Texas, while working at a gas station on a part-time job. The incident occurred when an unidentified assailant opened fire on him late at night.

Chandrashekar, a Dalit student from LB Nagar, had gone to the US in 2023 to pursue higher education after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Hyderabad. He had recently completed his Master’s degree in the United States just six months ago and was looking for a full-time job. In the meantime, he worked part-time at a local gas station to support his living expenses.

The sudden and tragic death has left his family and friends in deep shock. A young man who dreamed of building a bright future and making his family proud lost his life in a senseless act of violence.

Chandrashekar’s family has appealed to the Indian government and Telangana authorities to help bring his mortal remains back home. “We just want to see our son one last time,” said a grieving family member.

Former minister T. Harish Rao and BRS MLA Sudheer Reddy visited the bereaved family in Hyderabad and called the incident “deeply tragic.” They urged both the Central and State governments to take immediate action to repatriate the student’s body.

“The pain of the parents is unbearable,” Harish Rao said. “The government must ensure that Chandrashekar’s body is brought back home without delay.”

The BRS leaders also raised concerns over the increasing number of violent incidents involving Indian students abroad, calling for stronger measures to ensure their safety.

This heartbreaking incident adds to the growing list of attacks on Indian students in the United States, raising serious questions about their security and protection overseas.
