Israeli Airstrikes Hit Yemen’s Capital, Fuel Station Targeted (Video)

Sanaa, Yemen – 24 August – (www.deccanlive.com): Heavy Israeli airstrikes struck Yemen’s capital Sanaa overnight, targeting fuel and power facilities, according to Houthi-run media outlets Al-Masirah TV and Saba News Agency.

The strikes reportedly hit the Yemen Oil Company station on 60th Street in central Sanaa and the Haziz power station in the south. The Houthis described the attack as a new “Israeli-American aggression.”

Residents reported loud explosions shaking the city, with strikes landing near the presidential compound and missile bases, according to witnesses cited by Anadolu and Reuters.

The Yemen Oil Company said it had taken necessary measures to maintain supplies and that the fuel situation remains stable despite the strikes.

Meanwhile, Israeli military sources confirmed to Army Radio that the air force carried out attacks on Sanaa, stressing that “assassinations were not on the agenda.”

Reports say about 14 Israeli fighter jets took part, launching nearly 40 missiles on multiple sites.

The escalation follows an incident two days earlier, when the Houthis launched for the first time a missile with a cluster warhead towards Israel. The projectile hit a house in the settlement of Ginton, central Israel.

An Israeli military investigation confirmed the warhead type and noted it was the first Houthi attack using such a missile. However, the army admitted it is still investigating why the rocket was not intercepted, though it claimed the failure was not related to the missile type, saying the air defense systems are capable of shooting down such weapons.
